Assist clients and guests identify and select reputable Day Spas and Destination Spas |
| Criteria for the Gold Star List: | |
 |
Spa is currently licensed according to state regulations |
|
|
Spa has currently licensed or credentialed staff for the services that they are providing according to state regulations |
|
|
There are no complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau or with the state licensing boards. |
|
|
Most recent inspection of the facility was deficiency free. |
|
|
Clients/guests rate their satisfaction with their Spa experience on average as “very good” or “excellent” |
| Only Day Spas and Destination Spas can apply for the Gold Star List. A Day Spa or Destination Spa is defined as a spa that provides wellness and beauty services that do not require physician oversight and direction. A Day Spa or Destination Spa may provide what is classified as traditional spa services such as massage, pedicures, manicures, facials, microdermabrasion, and Reiki. |

| Determination of Number of Stars: | |

|
One star will be awarded for each criteria listed above |
|
|
Rating can be from one Star to a maximum of five Stars |
|
|
Verification of compliance with criteria include: |
| 1. Completion of application | |
| 2. Copies of licenses and credentials | |
| 3. Telephone verification with the Better Business Bureau and/or state licensing boards | |
| 4. Inspection report from state or local agency | |
| 5. Client/ guest satisfaction survey results in an average of “very good” or “excellent”. | |
| The Gold Star List award is for one year. | |
|
|
A Gold Star List Spa may use the Gold Star List designation and seal in all of its marketing and may place it on its facility and website. |
|
|
Gold Star List Spa will be listed with its Stars, location and services on the IMPAC, Inc. website, www.impacsurvey.com. |
| Note: This is not an accreditation based on quality standards. There is no on-site
verification of compliance with the criteria. The determination is based on the application and submitted
materials. |
